Biography

Biography of Dr. Roseline Nwabugo Attaugwu

Dr. Roseline Nwabugo Attaugwu is a Nigerian academic and researcher specializing in Food Science, Food Biotechnology, Human Nutrition, and Dietetics. She obtained her Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 2015, following a Master of Science degree in Food Biotechnology from the same institution in 2007. She earned her Bachelor of Technology (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) in Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in 1999.

Dr. Attaugwu began her teaching career in 2002 as a Tutor at Skills Acquisition College, Nsukka, where she taught Chemistry and Physics. From 2004 to 2013, she served as a Tutor at Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Nsukka, teaching Food and Nutrition.

In April 2013, she joined Madonna University Nigeria, Akpugo Campus, as Lecturer II in the Department of Food Science and Technology. She was promoted to Lecturer I in 2016 and later to Senior Lecturer in 2022. During her tenure at Madonna University, she held several administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Food Science and Technology (2019–2022) and Coordinator of the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) from 2020 to 2022.

Since November 2023, Dr. Attaugwu has been serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, Nigeria. Her responsibilities include teaching, research, and the supervision of undergraduate research projects.

With over two decades of teaching experience and an extensive record of scholarly publications, Dr. Attaugwu has made significant contributions to research in food science, nutrition, food product development, food security, and functional foods. Her work continues to advance knowledge in nutrition and food technology while contributing to the training and mentorship of future professionals in the field.
