Biography

Professor Chinwe Victoria Ukwe is a distinguished Nigerian academic and researcher in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). She is best known for her pioneering role as the foundational Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department at UNN and her foundational contributions to clinical pharmacy education in Nigeria.  Key Highlights
  • Academic Leadership: She served as the pioneer (acting) Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management at UNN, serving two major tenures between 1999–2007 and 2009–2012. 
  • Research Impact: Prof. Ukwe is a prolific researcher with numerous publications in fields such as Malaria Research and Control, public health, and pharmacotherapy. She has been widely cited in academic literature and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Clinical Pharmacy & Therapeutics (NJCPT)
  • Institutional Influence: In 2015, she delivered the 98th Inaugural Lecture at UNN titled "Clinical Pharmacy in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and the Way Forward," which served as a blueprint for the progression of the profession in the country.
