Biography of Rev. Fr. Jude Ugwueke Chijioke
Rev. Fr. Jude Ugwueke Chijioke is a Catholic priest, philosopher, educator, and academic whose vocation combines pastoral ministry with a commitment to intellectual development and moral formation. He currently serves as an Assistant Lecturer at the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) and is the Chaplain of the institution, providing spiritual leadership and guidance to the university community. His role as Chaplain has been publicly acknowledged in university events and publications.
Rev. Fr. Jude began his academic journey at the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy. Driven by a passion for understanding the human person, society, and ethical governance, he furthered his studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Political and Social Philosophy.
Before joining the university system, Rev. Fr. Jude distinguished himself in the field of education as a teacher at Sacred Heart Seminary Nsude, where he contributed to the intellectual and moral formation of young seminarians. His teaching experience equipped him with valuable pedagogical skills and deepened his commitment to mentoring future leaders.
As an Assistant Lecturer at SUMAS, Rev. Fr. Jude is dedicated to teaching, research, and community service. His academic interests are rooted in political philosophy, social ethics, human values, and the relationship between faith and society. Through his lectures and scholarly engagements, he encourages critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and social responsibility among students.
