Biography

Chioma Kasie Mbaekwe is a dedicated Academic, Microbiologist, and researcher currently serving as a Lecturer at the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Microbiology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Environmental Microbiology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). With several years of experience in academia, Chioma has established herself as a passionate educator committed to excellence in teaching, research, and mentorship. Her research interests are centered on environmental microbiology and related fields, with a focus on advancing scientific knowledge and developing practical solutions to environmental and public health challenges. Her academic contributions include several scholarly publications in reputable journals, reflecting her commitment to high-quality research and scientific advancement. Beyond the sciences, she is also a creative writer and musician, having released a musical album that showcases her artistic versatility. Chioma's pursuit of excellence began early in life when she won a national award in the Schools' Art and Essay Competition on Environmental Degradation: The Human Factor, organized by the Nigerian Bottling Company in collaboration with the National Conservation Agency. This achievement reflects her longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability and public awareness. Her professional strengths include research analysis, scientific writing, public speaking, and academic communication. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research, knowledge dissemination, and mentoring the next generation of scientists. Through her teaching, research, and community engagement, Chioma continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of microbiological sciences and environmental sustainability in Nigeria and beyond.
