Mrs. Odo Jacintha Nwakaego is a dedicated Laboratory Technologist in the Department of Industrial Physics at the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS). She is committed to supporting teaching, learning, and research activities through the effective management and operation of laboratory facilities and scientific equipment.
She obtained her Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology (Physics Option) from the Institute of Management and Technology, where she acquired a solid foundation in laboratory science, physics instrumentation, experimental techniques, and scientific analysis. Her academic training equipped her with the technical expertise required for laboratory administration and scientific support services.
Prior to her appointment at SUMAS, Mrs. Odo worked as a Laboratory Assistant at Primary Health Care, Amalla-Orba, where she gained valuable experience in laboratory procedures, sample handling, record keeping, and the maintenance of laboratory standards. This experience contributed significantly to the development of her practical skills and professional competence in laboratory operations.
As a Technologist in the Department of Industrial Physics, Mrs. Odo plays an important role in facilitating practical laboratory sessions, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and assisting staff and students in conducting scientific experiments and research activities.
