Biography

Simeon Obinna Nwaogaidu is a seasoned electrical and renewable energy engineer with over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning academia, international development, telecommunications, and engineering consultancy. He currently serves as Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, Nigeria.

Nwaogaidu is a doctoral candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, focusing on Electrical Machines and Drives. He holds a M.Sc. in Renewable Energy from Carl von Ossietzky University, Oldenburg, Germany, and a B.Eng.(Hon.) (Second Class Upper Division) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

His professional career includes impactful roles as an Alternative Power Consultant with the United Nations (MINUSMA) in Mali and as an Alternative Energy Specialist (Volunteer) with United Nations (MONUSCO) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also contributed to research and engineering solutions with Lahmeyer International GmbH, Germany, and the Ministry of Energy, Ghana. His early career included Senior positions in Nigeria Telecommunications Limited (NITEL), and as a Graduate Assistant Lecturer at University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Nwaogaidu is a certified professional with credentials including CCNA, ITIL, PRINCE2 (Foundation & Agile Practitioner), and Satellite communication certifications from the Global VSAT Forum. His professional affiliations include COREN, MNSE, MIEEE, SMISES, MIEEE (PES) and (PELS) societies.
