The State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) is located at Igbo-Eno in Enugu State. The University focuses on medical, health, natural and applied sciences, engineering and related professional education.
SUMAS states its vision as becoming a leading university of excellence in medical and applied sciences. Its mission centres on an environment where staff and students discover, critically examine, preserve and transmit knowledge and values that improve quality of life.
The University was founded in 2022 and received a provisional licence from the National Universities Commission as Nigeria's 219th university.
